About

Hello!

I’m Anne Deschaine. I live in the Pacific Northwest, now mostly work online, and explore the world through books and cultural heritage.

My work is centered in all sizes and shapes of libraries and archives, collecting, appraising, describing, and preserving (or not).

My research is focused on the global history of especially written communication and record, provenance, palaeography and decipherment, cultural heritage protection, and the stories we tell.

My hobbies include calligraphy, cooking and baking, reading speculative fiction, playing video games, letter-writing, bookbinding, and sewing.

My preferred nourishment involves tea, vegetables, honey, bread, and French, Scandinavian, or Chinese cuisines.

Feel free to interact with me in English, French, Swedish, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, secretary hand, runes, or shorthand.

Contact me here.

See what I’m up to now.
